Do you travel with a group, or organise trips for groups? Then you know the scene: a guide doing their best, talking over the traffic or the hubbub, while the back row can just about not follow. A compact tour guide system solves that. The system in this article is ideal especially for groups travelling internationally.
A tour guide system from five people upwards
As soon as a group is larger than a handful of people, it becomes hard to reach everyone properly. The solution is a tour guide system: the guide gets a microphone, the participants a receiver with an earpiece or headphones. Everyone hears the guide, without them having to raise their voice.
Compact enough for your luggage
For travelling groups, every centimetre counts. The Orpheo Tourguide system (OTG) is so compact that the charging case, including transmitter and up to 23 receivers, fits in most overhead lockers on a plane. The transmitter and receivers share the same housing, which keeps the charger so small.
- Case dimensions: 45.8 × 18.5 × 18.7 cm
- Weight without equipment: 4 kg
- Weight with equipment (without earpieces): 6.5 kg
Two listeners per receiver
You can connect two pairs of headphones to each receiver. That means you need even less equipment: ideal for couples travelling together.
Your own headphones
Almost everyone has their own earphones these days. If they have a 3.5 mm plug, they fit the receivers. Everyone brings their own headphones, which is also best in terms of hygiene. If you would still rather provide headphones, the Orpheo Airset is a hygienic alternative.
Safe on a city break
On a city break you don't want to be completely cut off from your surroundings, for example because of approaching traffic. A mono earpiece is more practical then: one ear listens to the guide, the other keeps an eye on the street. We can supply those too.

Transmitter and receiver at a glance
The units of the Orpheo Tourguide system are the same size but have a different function. That is why the transmitter for the speaker is blue and the receivers are black. In a full charging case with 23 receivers and one transmitter, you can see straight away which unit the headset microphone belongs to.
Usable worldwide
The Orpheo Tourguide system works in the 2.4 GHz band, which is free to use all over the world. It can get a little busy there in some places, but with 50 available channels you will always find a free one. At the Sydney Opera House, 50 systems are used side by side.
