Everything you need in an audio guide
With 25+ years of experience in the audio tour business, Orpheo knows what visitors demand with a self-guided tour device. This audio guide device encompasses all of the terrific qualities of previous generations – starting with high audio quality – but with a few extra perks; one of which is outstanding battery life. In addition, the Mikro LX can store as many languages as needed for your tour. Like all of Orpheo’s professional museum-quality devices, the Mikro LX features two headphone jacks. Shock and weather resistant, they can endure heavy public use for years on end.

Automatic triggering & video synchronisation
Orpheo audio guides and multimedia players are pre-equipped for automatic triggering and video synchronisation using Infrared which permit the devices to play certain audio messages automatically in predefined zones. It gives the advantage for the visitor to discover the tour hands-free, in complete autonomy with light show for example. Automatic triggering is also very usefull for disabled persons.
Of course, like all the other messages, the triggered comment is played in the language selected by the visitor. As all audio content is stored on the audioguides themselves, once the signal is received, the playback commentary is not interrupted.
Note : the triggering equipment is very discrete and does not require a centralized computer system.
One outstanding advantage of the Orpheo Mikro LX is the battery life; it supplies over 18 hours of continuous autonomy.
The charging rack stores and charges 24 Mikro LX devices at one time; these require no special attention from staff, they can remain plugged into a wall outlet to stay powered-on. Devices can be fully recharged within 6 hours. The charging rack also has the capability to load the content/languages or an audio track onto 23 machines at one time on demand, making the transfer of content and device management simple and stress-free.
Three charging rack formats are available to customise installation options for any site:
- Free-standing format
- 19” rackable format
- Optional wall hooks
Accessibility features
Accessibility is something Orpheo takes seriously, which is why all of our devices are also compatible with induction loops for the hearing impaired.
Another benefit of the device is the ability to use the loudspeaker (many volume levels available), an Orpheo Airset headset, or any standard headset with a 3.5mm jack. Therefore, visitors have the ability to use their own headsets with the Mikro LX device if desired. Volume is adjusted easily on the device by the user, and can be accessed using just one hand. Volume can be adjusted per track if necessary.
The device has a keypad with a raised marker on the #5 key, making it easier for visually impaired visitors to navigate. In addition, the keypad and display are backlit: this makes it easier to see in dim lighting and for visitors with visual impairments.
The automatic triggering options are useful for visitors with visual impairments or physical disabilities.
